Atako is a technical digital agency in London. We use AI to compress the build cycle for web applications and websites — and we make sure your brand is the one ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews actually recommend.
01 — What we do
Half of what we do is building software. The other half is making sure it gets found — in classic search engines and in the AI assistants that increasingly answer on their behalf. Both sides run on the same technical foundation.
We pair senior engineers with AI tooling across scoping, scaffolding, code review and test generation. The result is fewer weeks between brief and working software — without handing your codebase to a black box. Every line is reviewed by a human who can defend it.
Buyers now ask an assistant before they open a browser tab. We audit how ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews describe your brand today, find where competitors are being cited instead, and build the content and structured data that changes the answer.
WordPress, Django, Drupal or built from scratch — bespoke sites engineered for speed, Core Web Vitals and crawlability, so you can focus on running the business.
Django and Python, Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter and Yii. We build from zero or take over an inherited codebase and stabilise it — including legacy rescue work.
Fully custom storefronts or WooCommerce, OpenCart and Magento builds. B2B and B2C shops with product data structured so AI assistants can read and cite it.
Where does AI actually earn its place in your product or your marketing operation? We help teams work through that — RAG and retrieval over your own content, LLM features inside existing applications, internal automation, and the governance questions that come with them. No hands-on build required if you only need the thinking.
Native iOS and Android or cross-platform builds, delivered on time and on budget. On the marketing side: technical SEO, analytics that actually attribute, content engineering and paid support — all measured against revenue rather than vanity impressions.
02 — AI-accelerated delivery
Traditional agency timelines are mostly waiting — for specs, for wireframes, for the first working build. We use AI to collapse the parts of that process that were never really creative work, and spend the time saved on the parts that are.
We interrogate the brief with you and pressure-test assumptions. AI helps us model data structures, map user journeys and surface edge cases on day one rather than in week six.
Days, not weeksYou get something clickable and real early. AI-assisted scaffolding means the first build is generated in hours, then hardened by engineers — so feedback lands on software, not slides.
Week oneIterative sprints with AI-assisted code review, test generation and documentation running alongside. Security, performance and accessibility are checked continuously rather than bolted on at the end.
ContinuousDeployment, monitoring and handover — plus the schema, entity and content work that makes the product discoverable in both Google and the AI assistants your customers are already asking.
Ongoing
Where AI helps — and where it doesn't
AI is very good at the first 70% and genuinely unreliable at the last 30%. We're explicit about that split. Generation gets you a draft; architecture, security review, data modelling and judgement about your business still come from people who have shipped this before.
03 — AI search visibility
A growing share of research now ends inside an AI assistant. The user asks a question, gets one synthesised answer naming two or three companies, and never sees a list of ten blue links. If your brand isn't in that answer, you were never in the running — regardless of where you sit in classic rankings.
We run a set of real buying-intent prompts across every major assistant and record what each one says about you — and about your competitors. You get a plain inventory of the attributes AI currently associates with your brand, the ones it gets wrong, and the ones it hands to someone else.
Language models quote sources that are specific, structured and verifiable. We write and engineer content that way: clear definitions, comparison tables, named data, dated claims and question-shaped headings that map to how people actually phrase prompts.
Assistants reason about entities, not keywords. We tighten your structured data, knowledge-graph presence and cross-source consistency so that machines can resolve who you are, what you do and who you do it for — without guessing.
Ranking reports don't measure this. We track share of voice across a fixed prompt set over time, so you can see whether your presence in AI answers is improving, flat, or being eroded by a competitor.
Crawlability for AI agents, clean rendering without JavaScript dependence, sensible robots and llms.txt directives, fast servers and clean HTML. Classic technical SEO still decides whether the crawler ever reaches your content.
Models weigh what others say about you as heavily as what you say about yourself. We work on the review sites, directories, industry listings and editorial mentions that assistants pull from when forming a recommendation.
SEO and GEO are not the same job
Classic SEO competes for position on a page of links. Generative engine optimisation competes to be the source a model reaches for while writing its answer. The technical groundwork overlaps; the content strategy does not. We run both, because for now your customers use both.
04 — Selected work
Platforms, marketplaces, high-traffic content sites and lead-generation engines — built, rescued or scaled across websites, digital marketing and software.
05 — Client feedback
With Atako's assistance, I was able to completely overhaul the design and content hierarchy of my website. As a result, my website now receives almost twice the amount of traffic, and my lead generation volume has also almost doubled.
Before working with Atako, my website was outdated, and loaded extremely slow. Now, it loads within seconds, and my customers are complimenting me on the usability. This has led to more monthly subscribers.
Atako's deep know-how in technical SEO has assisted us in overcoming some major organic search issues.

06 — Questions
It means senior engineers using AI tooling at specific points in the delivery cycle where it demonstrably helps: turning a brief into a data model, scaffolding boilerplate, generating test coverage, reviewing diffs, and writing documentation. It does not mean generated code going into production unread. The speed gain comes from removing setup and repetition, not from removing engineering judgement.
SEO competes for a position in a list of links that a person then clicks. AI search optimisation — also called GEO or AEO — competes to be a source the model cites while composing a single answer. Technical foundations overlap heavily, but the content strategy differs: you optimise for extractable, verifiable passages and consistent entity signals rather than keyword-targeted pages. Most brands need both, because buyers still use both.
Yes. We build a fixed set of buying-intent prompts for your category, run them across the major assistants, and record what each returns — whether you appear, how you are described, which competitors are named instead, and which sources the answers lean on. Repeating that set on a schedule gives you a trend line rather than a one-off snapshot.
It depends entirely on scope, integrations and compliance requirements, so we won't quote a number before understanding yours. What we can commit to is putting something clickable in front of you early — typically a working prototype rather than static mockups — so decisions get made against real software. Timelines are agreed after discovery, not before.
Constantly. AI changed how we work, not what we work on. We build and maintain WordPress, Drupal, Django, Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter and Yii projects, plus custom and open-source e-commerce on WooCommerce, OpenCart and Magento. We also take over existing codebases from other teams and stabilise them.
No. Client code and business data are handled on tooling configured to exclude training, and sensitive engagements can be run under tighter constraints agreed in advance. You own the resulting code, repositories and documentation outright.

07 — Get in touch
If you're untangling a complex web of needs — a product to build, a platform to rescue, or a brand that AI assistants currently ignore — tell us about it. We'll tell you honestly whether we're the right team.
